تیم Debian در نهایت توزیع گنو / لینوکس پایدار Debian 9.0 Stretch را منتشر کرد. این نسخه یکی از کارکترهای Toy Story به نام Stretch نامگذاری شده است، برای مدت 5 سال پشتیبانی می شود. در نتبجه تلاش ترکیبی تیم امنیتی Debian و تیم Debian LTS، این نسخه برای 5 سال آینده پشتیبانی خواهد شد. تیم انتشار این نسخه را به Ian Murdock، مؤسس دبیان، که در دسامبر 2015 جان سپرد، تقدیم کرده است. در این پست با نرم افزار Debian 9 ‘Stretch’ GNU/Linux در خدمت شما عزیزان هستیم.
دبیان 9 به طور پیش فرض با هسته لینوکس 4.9، ابزارهای جدید پزشکی قانونی دیجیتال، گنوم 3.22، MariaDB ارایه شده است.این لینوکس یکی از معدود لینوکس هایی است که می توانید از ورژن قبلی به ورژن جدید لینوکس خود را ارتقا دهید.

New releases of desktop environments
Debian 9 Stretch Linux distribution has been released in different flavors. As a result, it comes with GNOME 3.22, KDE 5.8, MATE 1.16, and Xfce 4.12.
Linux kernel 4.9
Talking about the Linux kernel powering Debian 9 Stretch, it ships with Linux kernel 4.9, an LTS kernel, which will be followed by the next LTS release, i.e., Linux 4.14.
MariaDB is default
In Debian 9, the default, MySQL variant is now MariaDB. Once a user performs an upgrade to Debian 9, the change from MySQL 5.5 or 5.6 to the MariaDB 10.1 will automatically take place.
Firefox and Thunderbird
Another significant Debian 9 feature comes in the form of the return of Firefox and Thunderbird, which are replacing Iceweasel and Icedove.
New important verification feature
An important verification feature in Debian 9 has been added with the help of the Reproducible Builds project. With its help, 90% of the source package build bit-for-bit identical binary packages, which makes the overall Linux experience more secure.
‘modern’ branch of GnuPG
Debian 9 Stretch is also the first Debian version which features ‘modern’ branch of GnuPG in ‘gnupg’ package.
Debugging made easier
The debug packages too have been made easier to use. A new ‘dbg-sym’ repository has been added to the APT source list. It will provide debug symbols automatically.
UEFI support improved
The UEFI support, which was introduced in Wheezy release, has been imporved in Debian 9. It also supports Debian installaiton on 32-bit UEFI firmware with a 64-bit kernel.
New forensic tools
Debian 9 also ships with some digital forensics tools, including the following:
